Announcement: New US Delegates for SCAR

Dear US Antarctic Community,

Hope you are all enjoying summer. Am writing to let you know that my term as the US Delegate to SCAR ended July 31. The new US Delegate is Al Weatherwax from MIT and the new US Alternate Delegate is John Cassano from the University of Colorado Boulder. These appointments were made by the Polar Research Board of the National Academies which serves as the US national committee to SCAR. You can see the rest of the US-SCAR Team at our website.

I would like to thank all of you for your great support and your active participation in SCAR and US-SCAR over the past six years as I served as the US Delegate. I met so many wonderful people, reconnected with old friends, and very much enjoyed helping to bring the US Antarctic community together for SCAR events and initiatives. I will continue to work on several SCAR committees at the international level, and look forward to seeing many of you next year at the SCAR Open Science Conference in Oslo, Norway.

My congratulations and best wishes to Al and John in their new roles! Am sure you will be hearing from them soon.

Sincerely, Deneb
