Research Interests
Gavin Moriarty is a graduate student at Northern Arizona University (NAU) with the McMurdo Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) program. His work primarily involves using sUAS (drones), satellites, and other remote sensing techniques to study the snowpack properties and behaviours in the McMurdo Dry Valleys. This research will work towards bettering the strategies for searching for life in the universe, as the McMurdo Dry Valleys are the best terrestrial analogue to Mars' surface. His studies also heavily involve the use of innovative approaches for science communication and public outreach.
