Research Interests
Nelia Dunbar is a geochemist and petrologist who has worked on Antarctic volcanism, and the interactions between volcanism and ice, since 1983. Her research is strongly field-based, although she has also investigated the volcanic record in ice cores through examination of volcanic ash (tephra) preserved in the ice cores.
