Research Interests
Amy Bender is an experimental cosmologist focused on using measurements of the cosmic microwave background to probe the evolutionary history of the universe. Her expertise includes building and deploying the custom ultrasensitive arrays of superconducting detectors and their associated readout electronics that are used to make these measurements. Her experiments include the South Pole Telescope, which is currently observing, as well as the planned CMB-S4 experiment.
