Research Interests
Kaeli Hughes is an experimental astrophysicist working to build and detect neutrinos at the highest energies (above 10 PeV). She did her Ph.D. work on the ARA experiment, a ground-based neutrino detector at the South Pole, and now works on the PUEO balloon experiment which will fly out of McMurdo Station in December 2025. Understanding the flux of neutrinos above 10 PeV will help us better understand both particle physics and astronomy.
